I am the Kat that Walks By Itself

I did not finish my finish-a-thon story. But if not for the finish-a-thon, I wouldn't even have started it, so I think I am still ahead. And I did start it, so, as per the rules of the finish-a-thon, I am posting a (thousand-word) portion of what I did write. Since it so happens that the first scene is just over a thousand words, the first scene is what you are getting.

I don't know what the title of the story is, yet.

No writing done for the finish-a-thon today, but I feel good, because I sat down and watched the whole of "Terror of the Autons", which was the first Jo story, and I think it was also the first Master story.
