kerravonsen: animated sequence of geeks with the word "geek" around them (geek-anim)

Thanks y'all for polling. What I ended up doing was
- making a strawberry-banana Optifast smoothie
- reading more of "An Assembly Such as This" while drinking it
- putting in a load of washing
- watching two episodes of Numb3rs; I rewatched "The Janus List" and then I watched "Trust Metric".

Whoa!
I'd spent all this time really thinking that Colby was a traitor and then it turns out he isn't! Whoa!
I was also expecting Larry to be gone and Megan to be gone, and they weren't.

I love this show; I love how the people are important.
Their reactions are so typical: Don feels responsible, David gets angry, Megan wants them all to talk about it, Charlie does math, and Larry says something tangential, profound and helpful all at once. 8-)

I don't like Charlie with a beard. Or the whatever-it-is that is almost a beard.

Interesting how they're playing it that Don is getting better with the math; I kinda like it, because, hey, four years and it's not surprising that something has soaked in. Hey, characters actually learning stuff!

But it makes me realize that I may not be able to do the ficlet for [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha because I feel so utterly daunted at the idea of writing Larry. I can't! Waaaah!

Of course you can write Larry! He will be different from Astro's Larry or my Larry, but he will still be Larry.

If I can write Larry I'm pretty sure you can, too. :-)

I love this show; I love how the people are important.

Yes, yes! That's probably my favorite thing about the show: how interactions and motives are so important. Also how not everybody is dysfunctional (which can make for fun stories but is far less realistic than a show like Numb3rs).

One of my very favourite plotarcs from this show. So well done, too. It's the most realistic and sensible retcon I've ever seen.

NTS: Man, I REALLY need a Numb3rs icon. :/

I was very glad, upon watching that ep not all that long ago, to find out that Colby wasn't a traitor. I always liked Colby. :) I do love the fact that, even though he turned out not to be a bad guy, the whole still has an effect on his relationships with the other characters, and on how people see him. It goes along with that characters-actually-learning thing. Continuity and consequences! I love it.

And, aww, as much as I complain about Larry making me look stuff up all the time, I don't think he's a character one needs to be afraid of. I kind of thought I was crazy for trying to write him, myself, and apparently that turned out OK. :)

About five minutes into this episode, my mother-in-law exclaimed "Did no one shave over the summer break??" Heh. Izh posited that everyone was too angsty to be let near any razors in the wake of Janus List but if I remember correctly, Don managed to shave, so maybe he just stole everyone else's razors. Yes. That sounds plausible.

Say, Kat, you do know that I wrote some fic set between "Janus List" and "Trust Metric" (Day Has Gone Down and Sua Sponte), and a post-"Trust Metric" piece as well (Breathe For Me), right? *g*
