Doctor: It's dimensionally transcendental.
Sam: But how does it work?
The Doctor opens his mouth and closes it again.
Sam: You aren't going to tell me, are you?
Doctor: You might actually understand it. That would change history.

The two of them use the science together to produce some really amazing technobabble that saves a planet from being swallowed by a black hole?

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of what happens immediately after that bit of dialogue -- and whether one could make her a companion without completely destroying the history of the Stargate universe.
